Looking for things to do in Krakow with friends? The best plan pairs something active by day – a match, a bike ride, climbing or a walk up one of the city’s mounds – with an evening in town, on a Vistula boat or on a party tram. Below are 25 ideas – nine sporty, seven outdoor and nine for the evening – that easily add up to a full-day plan.
We’ve run Bumper Ball games in Krakow for years and help groups plan the rest of the day, so for each idea we say who it suits and what to watch out for.

Things to do in Krakow with friends by day: sport and adrenaline
1. Bubble football (Bumper Ball) match
Strap on a ball like a rucksack – it covers you from head to knees – and play football where collisions and somersaults are part of the fun. There are 10–12 players on the pitch at once, and bigger groups play a mini tournament. We play at the Com Com Zone hall in Nowa Huta and the hall at al. Jana Pawła II 37, or on a pitch you choose – details on our bubble football in Krakow page. Schedule it before your night out, not after.
2. Laser tag
A dark arena, sensor vests and infrared ‘guns’, plus teams, missions and a scoreboard after every round. Good in any weather and for mixed groups, as tactics count for more than fitness.
3. Paintball
Paint pellets, masks and outdoor scenarios: capture the flag, defend the base, escort the ‘VIP’. It’s for groups who love adrenaline and don’t mind a few bruises as souvenirs – wear clothes you won’t miss.
4. Go-karting
Qualifying, a final race and a lap-time table you’ll be arguing about all evening. Karting suits groups who love competition and results down to the hundredth of a second.
5. Trampoline park
Jumps, landings in a foam pit and trampoline dodgeball – an hour is enough to wear everyone out. Good for a rainy day and for a group that wants a workout without the competitive edge.
6. Climbing wall and bouldering
Bouldering means climbing low walls without a rope, above thick crash mats – no experience needed, and an instructor usually shows you the basics. Routes vary in difficulty, so everyone finds something, while the rest cheer from below.
7. Shooting range
Shooting under an instructor’s eye is competition that demands focus: everyone has their own lane, targets and score to compare. The rule is simple – go to the range sober and start the party only after you leave.
8. Escape room
Krakow has plenty of escape rooms, with themes from horror to bank heists. Bigger groups usually have to split across several rooms – play in parallel and compare times over dinner.
9. Bowling and pool
Calmer competition where you can chat, grab a bite and draw in even those who aren’t keen on sport. Good as a warm-up for the evening or to round off an active day.
Outdoors – bikes, mounds and water
10. Cycling along the Vistula to Tyniec
One of the nicest group rides runs from the centre along the Vistula to Tyniec and its Benedictine abbey. According to the city’s website, the cycle route along the Vistula from Tyniec to central Krakow is about 11.5 km, so the round trip is about 23 km – perfect for half a day with an ice-cream stop.
11. Zakrzówek
Zakrzówek Park was created on a 60-hectare former quarry site and has been open, with its bathing area, since June 2023. In summer it’s the place for a hot afternoon by turquoise water; out of season, for a walk and photos. Check the bathing area’s latest notices before you go.
12. Kopiec Krakusa at sunset
From Rynek Podgórski, Podgórze’s main square, it’s just over a kilometre’s walk to Kopiec Krakusa (Krakus Mound), and from the top of the 16-metre mound you get a full panorama of Krakow, from Old Podgórze and Nowa Huta to Tyniec and Ruczaj. Bring a blanket and a hot drink – the sunset from up there is quite something.
13. Las Wolski and Kopiec Piłsudskiego
Trails through Las Wolski (Wolski Forest) lead up Sowiniec hill to Kopiec Piłsudskiego (Piłsudski Mound) – the largest and highest of Krakow’s mounds, with views over Krakow and the area to the west. Good for a group that likes walking and fancies a forest picnic on the way.
14. Picnic and games on Błonia
Błonia is a 48-hectare meadow right in the middle of the city, so there’s plenty of room for frisbee, badminton or a kickabout. Bring a blanket, a speaker and snacks – the group will sort out the rest.

15. City game around the Old Town
Make your own game: a task list on your phone, photos at set spots and riddles about the city’s history. Plan the finale for Rynek Główny (the Main Market Square) on the hour, because the hejnał bugle call is played from the taller tower of St Mary’s Church every hour, day and night, to all four points of the compass.
16. Nowa Huta with a difference
Plac Centralny (Central Square) is the flagship example of socialist-realist urban planning in Poland – its wide avenues and arcades impress even those with no interest in architecture. Round off the walk with bubble football at the Com Com Zone hall, ul. Ptaszyckiego 6.
What to do in Krakow in the evening
17. Boat Party – a party boat on the Vistula
A private Vistula cruise with a sound system, club lighting and a party host is a very Krakow way to spend an evening. Details are on the Boat Party – party boat in Krakow website, where you can add extras such as catering and photo coverage.
18. Tram Party – a party tram
A club on wheels: a tram with music and lights carries you through the city while the party goes on inside. Tram Party in Krakow has packages for groups of up to 30 and for bigger ones, and the route can be personalised.
19. Wawel and the Vistula boulevards after dark
An evening stroll along the Vistula boulevards (Bulwary Wiślane) beneath floodlit Wawel Royal Castle is a classic even locals never tire of. On the way, visit the dragon – Bronisław Chromy’s sculpture has stood at the foot of Wawel since 1972 and breathes real fire.

20. Kazimierz – bars, courtyards and street food
After dark, Kazimierz, Krakow’s historic Jewish quarter, has a rhythm of its own: atmospheric bars, courtyard pubs and quick bites around Plac Nowy. Go without a plan and let the streets lead you – but book a table ahead if you’re a big group.
21. Karaoke
In a private karaoke room, even those who ‘never sing’ end up grabbing the mic. It’s a good compromise between partying and talking – and a source of recordings that will resurface at future get-togethers.
22. Stand-up or improv theatre
Stand-up or improv means effortless laughs and something to talk about all night. Buy weekend tickets in advance and check the show’s language – and at improv, someone in your group may be asked for a suggestion from the stage.
23. Pub quiz or board game night
A team pub quiz – ideally in English – is for those who’d rather exercise their brains than their legs. Alternatively, try a board game café, where staff usually help pick a game for your group size and experience.
24. Virtual reality
VR venues let several people play at once in the same virtual space: from shooters and rescue missions to escape rooms in headsets. Good for a rainy evening and for groups with keen gamers.
25. Dinner and a VIP booth at a club
To end the day: a restaurant table, then a club booth so the whole group isn’t stuck at the bar. We help here too – with the club booth, a restaurant table and transport from your hotel and back.
How do you turn these ideas into a full-day plan?
Pick one activity for the morning, one for the afternoon and one for the evening – and keep travel to a minimum. Do the physical stuff early, since bubble football, trampolines and the shooting range are for sober people only, and save the evening for the party.
| Time | Sample plan |
|---|---|
| 10:30 | Cycle to Tyniec or a walk around Zakrzówek |
| 13:30 | Lunch in Kazimierz |
| 15:30 | Indoor bubble football (1 hour, about 45 min of play) |
| 17:00 | Rest and change at the hotel |
| 19:00 | Dinner at a restaurant |
| 21:00 | Boat Party or Tram Party, then a club booth |

Frequently asked questions
What can you do in Krakow at night apart from sitting in a bar?
Pick something that combines fun with conversation: bowling, karaoke, a quiz, laser tag or a boat trip on the Vistula. A walk along the boulevards followed by dinner in Kazimierz also works.
What are the best sports activities in Krakow for a group of friends?
Ones where the whole group plays at once or in short rounds: bubble football, laser tag, paintball, go-karting or bouldering. For groups of a dozen or more, tournament formats with rotating teams work well.
What free things can you do in Krakow with friends?
A bike ride to Tyniec, a walk around Zakrzówek, climbing Kopiec Krakusa, a picnic on Błonia or your own city game around the Old Town – none of these need tickets. All you need is good weather and someone to bring a blanket.
Where can you play bubble football in Krakow?
We play at the Com Com Zone hall (ul. Ptaszyckiego 6, Nowa Huta) and the hall at al. Jana Pawła II 37. We can also bring the balls to a hall, an Orlik (a free public all-weather pitch) or grass of your choice.
