Children’s Day activities for schools are hardest to find for the older classes – and that’s exactly who a Bumper Ball match is for. It’s an activity for pupils aged 10 and over that comes to you: we bring the balls to your school pitch or gym, and classes take turns to an agreed timetable. The school gets a VAT invoice, and teachers get a ready-made slot in the programme – with no hunting for equipment or someone to run it.
To be clear: in practice, that means grades 4–8 of Polish primary school. For younger children, there’s a separate list of activities further down.

Why bubble football belongs on your list of Children’s Day activities for schools
In Poland, Dzień Dziecka – Children’s Day – is celebrated on 1 June, and in 2027 it falls on a Tuesday. Bubble football gives you what you want from the day: plenty of movement, lots of laughter and a game where football skills aren’t all that counts. Each player wears a ball like a rucksack – on adjustable straps, with two hand grips – and it covers them from head to knees.
You don’t need to buy or hire anything yourself. We’ve been running bubble football games in Krakow for years: we bring 10–12 balls, inflate them on site, show everyone how to put them on safely and keep an eye on the game. We choose the games – a match, Bubble Sumo, Bubble Bowling, Bulldog, Last Man Standing or rugby – to suit the age and energy of the group.
For the finale, you could plan a teachers-versus-pupils match, because adults play too. For taller players (from about 180 cm) we have 2 large balls 1.7 m in diameter, and the maximum player weight is 100 kg. That showdown may well become the loudest moment of the day.
How a Bumper Ball Children’s Day works at school – step by step
- Enquiry. Fill in the booking form or call +48 509 196 229 and tell us the date, the number of classes and pupils, their ages, where you’ll play (pitch or gym) and the hours available. We reply within 24 hours.
- Timetable. Together we agree the order of classes and the playing slots. A standard slot is 1 hour of ball rental, which means about 45 minutes of actual play.
- On the day. We arrive before the first slot, inflate the balls and set up the pitch. Each class starts with a briefing, and since 10–12 people play at once, we split it into teams and run a mini tournament with rotation.
- Invoice. Afterwards we issue a VAT invoice to the school.
Sample timetable – rotating classes on the pitch
Here’s how the day might look at a school where grades 4–8 play, one class per slot. Short breaks between slots make it easy to swap groups. At the hottest time of day, move into the gym – in summer we advise against playing in full midday sun.
| Time | Who plays | Programme |
|---|---|---|
| 8:30–9:30 | grade 4 | briefing, match, Bubble Bowling |
| 9:45–10:45 | grade 5 | briefing, match, Bulldog |
| 11:00–12:00 | grade 6 | briefing, match, Bubble Sumo |
| 12:15–13:15 | grade 7 (in the gym if it’s hot) | mini team tournament |
| 13:30–14:30 | grade 8 and teachers | mini tournament, teachers vs pupils final |
Within each slot, the class splits into several teams. While two of them play, the others cheer and rest, and every few minutes they swap – so everyone gets onto the pitch several times.
If you have two classes per year group, add more slots or combine smaller groups. We’ll work out the exact plan with you around your lessons and breaks.
How much does bubble football for Children’s Day at school cost?
The starting point is the Without a hall – €17/person package: 10–12 balls, free delivery in Krakow, about 45 minutes of actual play and the organiser’s supervision. For one class of 25 pupils, that’s 25 × €17 = €425. For several classes and a whole day at school, we’ll prepare an individual quote – just tell us how many pupils and slots you’re planning.
You can add a game host and referee with a speaker for music (€34/h), photo coverage with 20–25 photos and a group photo (€34) – handy for the school website – or a short HD video (€78). You’ll find every item in our Bumper Ball price list, and we describe how the game works on our page about Bumper Ball matches in Krakow.

School pitch or gym?
The best surface is level and soft – grass or artificial turf – with no sharp edges or obstacles, and big enough for 10–12 people to run around freely. Tarmac pitches and hard-surfaced yards aren’t suitable. Shade, water and toilets near the pitch are a plus.
The school gym is plan B for rain and heat – if it’s big enough, we play there with no problem. No pitch or gym at your school? We play at the Com Com Zone hall (ul. Ptaszyckiego 6, Nowa Huta) and the hall at al. Jana Pawła II 37, and because we work with venues all over Krakow, we can find and book a hall closer to you.
Delivery of the balls is free within 15 km of Krakow city centre, with €0.23/km beyond that. We travel all over Poland, so bubble football is a Children’s Day option not only for Krakow schools but also for those in surrounding municipalities and further afield.
Safety and getting pupils ready
Pupils can play from age 10, but height matters too. We have 10 balls 1.5 m in diameter for players from about 150 cm and 2 large 1.7 m balls for players from about 180 cm. In grade 4, it’s worth checking in advance that everyone meets these requirements.
An inflated ball weighs about 10 kg, so before the game everyone gets a briefing on how to put it on safely. We choose the games to suit the group and enforce the safety rules throughout. Teachers look after their class as on any school outing, and we take care of running the match.
Pupils should come dressed for PE: shorts or a tracksuit, a T-shirt and trainers. In June, everyone should bring a bottle of water.
Teacher’s checklist before Children’s Day
- Agree the date and the pitch times with the head teacher.
- Count the pupils in each class and check that everyone meets the age and height requirements.
- Book the gym as plan B in case of rain or heat.
- Tell parents about PE kit and a bottle of water.
- Collect consent forms and participant lists in line with your school’s rules.
- Choose someone to keep track of the order of classes on the day.
- Have the school’s details ready for the VAT invoice.

What about grades 1–3? Children’s Day activities for younger pupils
Children under 10 don’t play in the balls – they’re too big and too heavy for them. Rather than promising it’ll somehow work out, plan a separate play zone for the younger classes, for example:
- a play parachute and circle games,
- an obstacle course made of cones, hoops and benches,
- sack races and tug of war,
- soap bubbles and face painting,
- a treasure hunt around the school grounds,
- a bouncy castle or inflatable slide,
- a mini Olympics with a certificate for every participant.
Younger classes can also cheer on the older ones from a safe distance, with banners and chants. It’s a simple way to make the whole school feel it’s celebrating together.

Frequently asked questions
What age can children play bubble football?
From age 10, and from about 150 cm tall. For younger pupils, it’s better to offer games without the balls, such as an obstacle course.
How many pupils can play in one hour?
A whole class – there are 10–12 players on the pitch at once, and teams rotate during the mini tournament. With bigger groups, you can extend the game by 30 minutes so everyone gets more playing time.
Do you issue VAT invoices to schools?
Yes, we issue VAT invoices to companies and institutions, including schools.
What if it rains on Children’s Day?
Then we play in the school gym, so it’s worth booking it in advance as plan B. If the school has no gym, we can find a hall in Krakow (hall rental is €58/h) for the classes to travel to.
